Why do I need a website?

We hear it all the time, "I have a Facebook... Why do I need a website, too?"

A website is not a Facebook. A website is permanent and professionally used as a billboard for what you offer in your business. Facebook is a promotion tool used to talk about what you offer in your business. The two are not the same and are not interchangeable.

A website will be a static page that you direct to your custom domain.

On a website, you will need to have the following:
  • About you
  • About your business/service/purpose
  • What you do and pictures of it
  • Contact Information
This is the basics. The more in-depth your goals are, the bigger your website will be. You may also need a menu, or an order form. Maybe you need an online shopping gallery. Either way-- a website is customizable to your business and is imperative in today's standards. Without a website, you cannot compete against others in your industry.

Basic Reasons A Website Will Benefit Your Business
  • It's like having an "Open Sign" on and "Front Desk Associate" on call at all times.
  • Easily Cross promote with friends and fellow business owners by sharing websites and links
  • Google will show new customers your information the more updated your website and social presence is.
  • Customers believe a business is legit if they have a solid online presence.
Don't stress about this. You won't have to spend thousands to get a website built like in decades past where coding with a nerd was the only way to get this accomplished. Now, there are drag and drop sites for those with a creative eye, and affordable consultants who can do the building process with your guidance if you're not comfortable with the DIY options.

Most of all, keep your website simple and up to date. If you move, don't forget to update your website contact page. If you add an employee, don't forget to add them to the staff page. When a customer doesn't see information that jive's it will make your business look less professional and in some cases, can deter people from using your services or shopping your store.
